  • > WHAT IS THE JOSEPH P. RILEY, JR., PARK CLUBHOUSE RENOVATION PROJECT?

    • Fundraising is underway to enhance The Citadel Bulldog’ Clubhouse at Joe Riley Park. This transformational project will ensure that the home of Bulldog Baseball will be the #1 facility in the Southern Conference and the premier sports venue on the Charleston Peninsula.
    • Why is this project crucial?  For decades, The Citadel Baseball program has operated out of the same space, and the recent rule changes in Major League Baseball and Minor League Baseball have presented a unique opportunity to collaborate with the City of Charleston and The Charleston RiverDogs to improve Joe Riley Park, creating a central home for the program.

  • > KEY PROJECT POINTS

    • Brand-New Locker Room and Clubhouse: The Citadel Baseball program will have a dedicated space at Joseph P. Riley, Jr., Park that reflects excellence. This move will enhance team operations and foster a sense of pride among the players. Estimated to cost, $1,500,000.
    • Programmatic Excellence & Winning: By upgrading the baseball facilities, The Citadel Baseball can position itself to be one of the best programs in the Southern Conference. A modern clubhouse will aid in attracting top talent, retaining that talent in the age of the transfer portal, and contributing to the success on the field.
    • A Win-Win for Two Sports: Not only will the baseball program benefit from this project, but this move also allows for the relocation of the two-time conference champions, The Citadel Volleyball team, to improved locker rooms and offices.
